GE Infrastructure Water & and Process Technologies has achieved a revolutionary breakthrough in the water treatment industry. Out-of-the box thinking and years of research have produced a totally new point-of-use drinking water system.

The new Merlin RO System features continuous-flow water production, so a storage tank is no longer required. The unit operates on line pressure, which eliminates the need for an electrical pump in most applications. The patented high-production, low-energy membrane reduces impurities in up to 720 gallons (2,725 liters) of water per day! Not only is this ideal for a domestic setting the high production rates make this unit ideal for light industrial use such as window cleaning reach and wash systems.

The Merlin comes complete with a pressure guage, tap, pipe and drain fitting. It does not come with a fitting to connect the Melrin to the mains. Various fitting optins are shown below.

GE Merlin flushing tank
This kit includes a small tank that connects to the 1/4-inch light blue elbow on the Merlin. The kit forces permeate water to flush the high salt concentrate water from the membrane elements. By doing this, the system rests with low salt concentrations on both sides of the elements. Because low salt concentrations remain on each side of the membrane, salt diffusion is greatly reduced. The kit uses approximately 0.7 gallons (2.5 liters) of permeate water to flush the membrane elements each time it operates.
