GE Merlin reverse osmosis system
On-demand RO water without the need for water storage.

In designing the Merlin, the complex assembly of some conventional RO systems has been eliminated resulting in a simplistic leak-free unit. Membranes, cartridge and all componentry locate into a manifold that makes the Merlin less than two cubic feet in size, with just three simple push-fitting connections colour coded for absolute simplicity.

The Merlin system incorporates two high-flow membrane elements in series to produce an average of 1.9 lpm of purified water. With the concentrate from one element being channelled through the second, the waste water is reduced by approximately 75% compared to conventional systems.

Up to 4,000 litres per day of on-demand purified water without the need for water storage.

Works on mains pressure (40 psi+) requiring no pump or electricity for most applications

The Merlin comes complete with a pressure guage, tap, pipe and drain fitting. It does not come with a fitting to connect the Melrin to the mains. Various fitting optins are shown below.

10" sediment pre-filter kit
For commercial applications it is suggested that a pre-filter be installed to pro-long the life of the merlin carbon filter.

The kit includes a Pentek slimline filter housing with integral bracket and 1/2" push fit connections for easy installation. It also includes a purtrex PX05-97/8 spun bonded filter and a housing spanner.

3/4" BSPF adaptor
The Merlin comes with no inlet fittings. This adaptor allows you to connect your merlin directly to a standard 3/4" BSPM branch fitting (washing machine/dish washer fitting) for easy installation. Alternatively a hozelock fitting can be screwed directly into this adaptor so that the merlin can be dirrectly hooked up to a hoze pipe. This fitting will also fit an outside tap.

GE Merlin flushing tank
This kit includes a small tank that connects to the 1/4-inch light blue elbow on the Merlin. The kit forces permeate water to flush the high salt concentrate water from the membrane elements. By doing this, the system rests with low salt concentrations on both sides of the elements. Because low salt concentrations remain on each side of the membrane, salt diffusion is greatly reduced. The kit uses approximately 0.7 gallons (2.5 liters) of permeate water to flush the membrane elements each time it operates.
