SPECTRUM EPE Pleat² Economic Polyester Pleated Filter Cartridge

The SPECTRUM EPE Pleat² Economic Polyester Pleated Filter, formerly known as the SPECTRUM SPE, is a high-efficiency pleated cartridge designed for economical particulate filtration across a wide range of water and liquid treatment applications.

Manufactured from resilient polyester filter media, the EPE combines a large filtration surface area with a low pressure drop, allowing excellent flow rates while keeping energy requirements to a minimum. Its pleated construction provides almost seven times the surface area of a comparable cylindrical depth cartridge, helping to increase dirt-holding capacity and extend service life.

The fibrous polyester media provides useful depth characteristics as well as surface filtration, allowing particulate to be retained throughout the media rather than solely on its outer surface. This makes the EPE an excellent general-purpose cartridge for the removal of dirt, sand, sediment, rust and other suspended particulate.

Its robust polyester construction also makes the cartridge suitable for use with microbiologically untreated water sources such as borehole, well and river water, as well as a variety of industrial process liquids and compatible chemicals.

Bonded vinyl plastisol end caps help maintain the integrity of the pleat pack, while the strong polypropylene inner core provides additional support during operation. The moulded end caps also create an effective seal against the knife edge of compatible filter housings without the inconvenience of loose end caps during cartridge replacement.

The SPECTRUM EPE range provides 90% filtration efficiency at the stated micron rating, making it an economical choice for both pre-filtration and general particulate removal.

Please Note: The 0.5 and 1 micron EPE cartridges use a secondary polypropylene layer to provide the required filtration efficiency and help protect against premature blinding.
