Technical Resources
FilmTec™ LC LE PRO-4040 is a 4-inch low-energy reverse osmosis membrane element designed to deliver high-quality permeate at lower operating pressure, including under challenging feedwater conditions. DuPont's low-energy commercial membrane technology combines high salt rejection with a large active membrane area to help reduce operating flux and fouling while maintaining strong permeate output.
Key Features
- Designed for high-quality water production at low operating pressure.
- 94 ft² (8.7 m²) active membrane area for lower operating flux and reduced fouling potential.
- High salt rejection under challenging feedwater conditions.
- Wide short-term cleaning pH range of 1–13 for effective cleaning and chemical tolerance.
- Suitable for commercial, light industrial and drinking-water applications requiring stringent permeate quality.

- Fits nominal 4-inch I.D. pressure vessels
Typical Applications
- Commercial water demineralisation
- Industrial water demineralisation
- Production of municipal drinking water
- Water reuse
- Refilling stations and bottling plants
- Hotels, schools and institutional water systems
Important Operating Notes
- Keep the element moist at all times after initial wetting.
- DuPont recommends removal of residual free chlorine by suitable pretreatment before membrane exposure.
- Discard permeate produced during the first hour of operation.
- Avoid static permeate-side backpressure.
- For prolonged shutdowns, preserve the membrane in a suitable preservative solution.
- Effective cyst and pathogen reduction depends on the complete treatment system, operation and maintenance; the membrane element alone does not guarantee pathogen removal.
