Ecosoft Ecolite Soft is a strong acid cation exchange resin supplied in the sodium (Na+) form for effective hardness reduction in residential and commercial water softeners. The gel-type resin uses a polystyrene matrix crosslinked with DVB and exchanges hardness-forming calcium and magnesium ions for sodium, helping to reduce scale formation in pipework, boilers, water heaters and other equipment.
Supplied as a 25 litre bag, Ecolite Soft combines high exchange capacity with good chemical, physical and thermal stability and is suitable for both new softener builds and resin replacement.

How It Works
As hard water passes through the resin bed, calcium and magnesium ions responsible for hardness are exchanged for sodium ions held on the resin. Once the resin becomes exhausted, its exchange capacity is restored by regenerating with a sodium chloride (NaCl) brine solution.

Ecosoft recommends the following raw-water limits for this media:
- Hardness: up to 15 meq/L
- Iron: up to 0.2 mg/L
- Manganese: up to 0.05 mg/L
- Permanganate oxidisability: up to 5 mg O2/L
- Free chlorine: up to 0.5 mg/L
- Recommended pre-filtration: 100 micron
