Questions & Answers loading...

SWC6 are the lowest feed pressure membranes offering low energy consumption. They are preferred when the seawater feed temperature is lower which requires high feed pressures. SWC6 membranes result in low energy consumption and lower treatment costs. SWC6 membranes are available in two different types of variants, LD and MAX.

Low differential LD Technology models are offered to minimize colloidal fouling when used with conventional pre-treatment equipment. They offer consistently low feed pressures and highest duration between two successive cleanings.

The MAX models have a 440 ft2 (40.9 m2) active membrane surface area. They provide excellent performance with high TDS and boron removal from warm waters.

It’s designed for high efficiency, low energy consumption, and better treatment cost savings, making it ideal for demanding seawater applications.
How does the LD variant of the Hydranautics SWC6 MAX membrane help in reducing fouling?
The LD (Low Differential) variant of the Hydranautics SWC6 MAX membrane minimizes colloidal fouling when used with conventional pre-treatment, resulting in consistently low feed pressures and fewer cleanings, ultimately extending membrane lifespan.
Can the Hydranautics SWC6 MAX membrane perform well in low-temperature seawater conditions?
Yes, the Hydranautics SWC6 MAX membrane is designed to operate efficiently in warm waters with high TDS and boron content, making it suitable for use in various seawater conditions, especially where higher feed pressures are present.
What are the main advantages of using the Hydranautics SWC6 MAX Reverse Osmosis Membrane Element 8" x 40"?
The Hydranautics SWC6 MAX membrane offers high performance in high TDS and boron removal, especially in warm waters, while maintaining low energy consumption for cost-effective operation.
How does the SWC6 MAX membrane compare to other models in terms of energy efficiency?
The SWC6 MAX membrane is designed for low feed pressure operation, which results in lower energy consumption and reduced treatment costs compared to higher feed pressure membranes.
What are the differences between the LD and MAX variants of the SWC6 membrane?
The LD variant minimizes colloidal fouling and maintains low feed pressures with conventional pre-treatment, while the MAX model provides a larger active surface area for better performance in challenging waters.
Is the SWC6 MAX membrane suitable for seawater applications with low feed temperatures?
Yes, the SWC6 MAX membrane is preferred for seawater feed where lower temperatures require high feed pressures, ensuring efficient operation under such conditions.
What are the dimensions and surface area of the Hydranautics SWC6 MAX membrane?
The membrane measures 8 inches in diameter and 40 inches in length, with an active surface area of 440 square feet (40.9 m2), ideal for high-volume water treatment.
