The Pentair CBR2-10 Carbon Block Filter Cartridge is a high-performance 0.5 micron nominal carbon block filter designed to provide advanced drinking water treatment, including the reduction of chlorine taste and odour, lead, mercury, cysts, MTBE and certain volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Unlike a conventional carbon block cartridge, the CBR2-10 uses a multi-media construction combining powdered activated carbon with a specially formulated adsorbent media. This enables the cartridge to reduce both dissolved and particulate lead, with lead reduction performance rated through 7,500 litres under specified operating conditions.

A specially formulated polypropylene bilaminate pre-filter surrounds the carbon block, helping capture sediment before it reaches the treatment media. This increases dirt-holding capacity and helps extend the useful life of the cartridge.

With its fine 0.5 micron nominal rating, the Pentair CBR2-10 also provides excellent particulate filtration. Where the incoming water contains significant sediment or turbidity, additional pre-filtration is recommended to prevent premature blockage and maximise cartridge life.

Multi-Media Carbon Block Technology

The CBR2-10 combines powdered activated carbon with specialised adsorbent media rather than relying on carbon alone.
